Welcome to the Mylemarks Monthly newsletter! As the school year begins, our kids are filled with a mix of emotions as they return to the classroom. Some kids face the new year with joy and excitement while others are dreading the academic and social demands of school. During the school year, more than likely, they all will encounter some degree of stress. This could be from their workload, peer relationships, or the health and safety precautions implemented in their school. The resource of the month is focused on helping kids learn more about identifying, exploring, and coping with these stressors when they occur. I Can Cope! with feeling STRESSED is a fillable worksheet that encourages your client to recognize their triggers and learn about their physical, cognitive, and behavioral responses to stress.

Self-Care SpotlightLooking for a self-care idea for yourself or clients? Try houseplants! Alyce Read has 150 houseplants which she highlights on her Instagram page (@alyceinthejungle). In the article below, she discusses how caring for houseplants positively impacts her mental health.
"And you need to look at conditions. You wouldn’t take a plant and put it in a dark corner and fail to water it and expect it to thrive. So we should look at ourselves that way. If we are not thriving in the way that we would wish, it might not be any fault of ours, it might be the conditions that we are under. So rather than blame ourselves, we should take care of ourselves." Gift Card GiveawayEach month, we'll be giving away a $10 gift card to use on our website!
